UNT UNT launches new Trujillo alert for high levels of UV rays

index ultra violet (UV) has increased in the last month at an alarming rate, reaching peaks of 16 very high UV index, when the average human body acceptable to the UV index is 9.
The research group of the Meteorological micro-site of the National University of Trujillo, has been working for almost a year to the registration of the weather activity in our city.
The head of the given micro-weather of the UNT, Mr. Hipolito Flores Urquiaga, expressed concern and called on the population of Trujillo to take preventive measures to avoid future skin diseases.
"The result showed the February record is disturbing, and it is necessary awareness on the part of the population not exposed to sun without protection, especially between 10 am and 4 pm" he said.
In the month of January registered the highest UV index was 15.4, while February was easily overcome, to reach 16 and the UV index was steady throughout the month.
The outlook is forecast for this month does not vary much in relation to the previous month, as in the first week only one day has been a UV index of less than 16. We refer to Saturday March 5 where it was UV index 11, an amount that is still harmful.
During these summer days, it is recommended that Trujillo be careful in the sun swimming pools, beaches or parks, are asked to use sunscreen, hats and where necessary, clothes that cover your skin from sunlight.
